Hexagram Thirty-Six: Diminishing of the Light

Hexagram thirty-six, known as the “Diminishing of the Light,” suggests a period where retreat and concealment of one’s true intellectual stance are wise. This concept is mirrored by the Sun, which occasionally hides its brilliance. During challenging times, a superior person similarly moderates their outward expression. Perseverance and patience remain advantageous in such situations.

Key Principles

  1. Avoid Rash Decisions: Now is not the time to take significant risks, such as crossing the great water. Remaining steadfast and persistent is beneficial.
  2. Darkening of the Light: This aspect highlights the wisdom in leading others by maintaining silence about one’s circumstances, thus demonstrating inner strength.

The Image

  • The Sunset behind the Earth:
    • Stay true to your path: Maintain focus on your goals and values.
    • Be mindful of challenges ahead: Recognize and prepare for obstacles that may arise.

Personal Interpretation

On February 15, 2013, during my observance of “My Calendar of Days,” a significant event occurred: a celestial rock landed on Earth. This event, still discussed as of February 14, 2020, drew my attention to the calendar’s operation, which resembles a bell curve in statistics. Near the peak, one can anticipate probabilities or effects aligning with the calendar described in “Foretell the Future with the I Ching and My Calendar of Days.” This hexagram, associated with injury, appears four times a year: February 14, July 17, August 7, and November 14, corresponding with the onset of each season.

Embracing the Journey

The core concept is to sometimes adopt a passive role and enjoy the journey, avoiding the trap of becoming a controlling observer. This is an opportunity to embrace the unknown while adhering to your inner values. It’s crucial not to isolate yourself or undermine your support system. Remember that morals are subjective; they might not reflect universal beliefs now, but we are progressing towards a more unified understanding with the help of technology.

The hexagram advises recognizing one’s current situation and maintaining a firm steadiness to a pre-planned course, or as it is often termed, one’s Inward Principles. Similar to Hexagram 6, where speaking leads to conflict, it is better to keep fears private. Configure your innermost feelings to appear gentle and accepting of others to avoid compound conflict.

Amidst Challenges

In the face of internal turmoil, focus on pursuing justice. Remain amiable amidst boundless challenges. Seek tranquility and patience, especially around periods of upheaval. We are currently at its peak, so keep actions understated today.

I recall discussing the concept of the dragon hidden within a droplet of water on Sunday, August 4, 2024. Now, we find ourselves surrounded by all forms of water. Just a nod to the home team, “The Future: 2020,” and a mention of the free T-shirt.

In conclusion, during these times of diminishing light, it’s vital to balance inner strength with outward composure, embracing patience and perseverance.
